Hey Sue, No. No hidden Screws. Just a tight fit. I actually just took mine off because the actual end cap broke and now I need to find out where to buy a new end cap. The one thing you might want to do is to remove the bottom feet with a phillips head screw driver (they're tight) and then slide out the plastic sheild under the unit (be careful, mine was full of dust!) It might make pulling the end cap off, a little easier. I had to wiggle mine a bit. Good Luck!
