have just purchased a Flavel Victoriana 50 and the oven is incredibly slow to heat up - it takes an hour to reach Gas 7 and doesn't make it any higher. The engineer said that's the way it's made now, and that my thermometer was slow but I don't think my roast chickens (that didn't get cooked!) agree. What should I do and can it be fixed?
Is this a new or second hand oven? I'm just thinking that your house gas pressure is low, the burner has the incorrect jet size in it or the gas supply pipe is too small - certainly the thing isn't much use as it is!
