Boiler Problems - Myson Apollo 50si?

The pilot light in my boiler (Myson Apollo 50si) does not seem to operate. When the boiler is switched on, the fan starts but there is no pilot light, thus no heat nor hot water.

Please can someone help with the above problem.

I had my myson apollo cutting out my main circuit breaker in the house and for years was making a banging noise when the flame was switch down not all the time but randomly, Thought it was just scaling. Replaced the pump over run stat for £12 and to my amazement cured all.

The other thing I forgot wa to say it could be your air preasure switch (black round thing top right). Easy to test. Unplug the white tube rom boiler side and suck/blow gently and you should hear the microswitch clicking --- dont suck or blow to hard. If the boiler is powered on and it you suck blow and the spare ignites you have the fault (dont bang yr head or fall off yr ladder if it starts up!!!! be prepared for the bang of it starting)- these were originally made in the UK, but now only in China (there is a know problem with the later)

Baz Hi, I know the 50si well. The fan should start first, thats the good news. Can you tell me if you have tried to start it with the switch both high and low, if you have and still there is no spark, then we can prob can say that there is no issue with either the high or low stat. There is a 3rd stat for pump overrun but this would also not stop it sparking. These stats are a few quid by the way and easy to fit. We need then to look at the spark electrode. There is an electrode cable that runs from the PCB to the electrode itself. There is a chance that this has broken (they do break as it runs through tight holes with gromet and with the heat etc.). When you start the boiler do you hear the spark generator on the PCB clicking - about once a second. If you can see the PCB you will see a small light flicker? (you will need to open the boiler to do this) If it is then you can assume its the lead (electrode at one end and other end plugs into PCB (circuit board)). This lead is about a £10-£20 last time I bought 1. I would not rush out and get a replacement PCB as these are about £100 and often they are not where the fault is (retailer will not re-stock once open). Let me know. You can test the electrode cable's continuity to see if it is still in one piece. Sorry would write more but late and work tomorrow. Hope this helps a little.
Maybe drop yr contact e-mail here and i can maybe help more.
Good luck with it. Stefan

I'm having the same problem?, but I dont even know what model the boiler is - theres no model number etc on it, Ive read about manually starting it but theres just a grey knob u can push in, but no igniter?..
