I doubt that your problem is the cord winder. My vacuum has been doing this for along time. The manual says that it overheats because it may have clogged debris. Mine as I can tell does not, so that's why I'm looking for an answer. I will take it too a repair person if I can't figure it out. Good luck to you and let me know if you figure it out.
