removal of disc from transit van?

how to remove the front disc from a 2005 transit van
Kevin Winship, March 2008
No amount of wellying at the disc will get these brutes off. But, 3 oak wedges approx 75mm long and tapering 30 to 40mmm will. Theres 3 places behind the disc where you can belt them in with a lump hammer. A small cold chisel belted in at the bottom aswell and the hub came free! Thats if your replacing the discs ofcourse as they will get damaged. Sounds a bit adhoc I know but it got the job done and saved buying the proper disc removal tool.

there is a special tool to remove the dics without damaging them and not having to take the hub carrier off, not knowing this i have just done a set but had to remove the hub carrier, remove the 5 50 torxs bolts and then press the bearind and flange from the carrier the disc then unbolts (5 13mm bolts). bl**dy stuped design. You could probly hammer the bearing assembly out but be careful not to damage it. good luck.

take wheel off. undo hub nut. undo bottom ball joint nut. undo steering rack end nut. look through holes in hub and youll see some torx bolts, undo them (youll need quite a long torx key. undo the two bolts at back of hub connecting it to strut. remover hub, give the disc a clatter and it should come off.
