Replacing a lawn mower blade?

I cannot seem to remove the blade from my petrol lawn mower to fit a new one, the blade just spins around as I try to turn the nut any ideas of the best way of preventing this to remove the blade. The lawn mower is a Mountfield laser delta

all your doing is turning the engine over...... try clamping the blade and then undoing the retaining nut...
