The ignition on my Cannon CD2 main (bottom) oven keeps sparking even though the burner is lit.Can anyone suggest a solution please? Thanks

Same cooker same problem but 2021.
These upper and lower ovens appear to have 'ignite and sense' electrodes, so it is the GENERATOR which senses when the flame is on, to stop auto spark on flame on.
All electrodes sparking all the time the lower oven was alight.
changed ALL the parts timer, generator, checked earthing.
Answer ? it turned out to be A NEW lower oven electrode. !!! for £25. Easy to fit.
The old one had some 'caked on' cooked meat juices which caused the auto spark generator to think flame not there.

Ours did the same. It seemed to me that the flame sensor wasn't sensing the flame reliably. I crawled into the oven with the intention of cleaning the burner in the region of the flame sensor but it looked to be in very good condition. So, it seemed, the fault must lie with the sensor. It must need cleaning. I took some very fine abrasive paper and _gently_ rubbed all round the sensor to remove anything that had accumulated on the surface. I'm delighted to say that the clicking has stopped. More importantly, my wife has stopped moaning about it :-)
