The dial on the washing machine is stuck. I cannot manually rotate the dial to change the setting and therefore it will not go beyond rinse cycle and is just stuck in one mode. How do I fix this?

Tell it in no uncertain terms that if it doesnt perform correctly you are goingto smash it up with a sledgehammer and put it out for the scrap man, I find this usually works for me, though I have had to buy 47 machines over the years. trouble is they are like children and just do not listen, hope this helps.

Youll have to remove the dial to see if its a mechanical problem stopping it rotating. Grip the dial with a cloth and a pair of grips and pull forward to remove. Some programmers are held by a thing called an advance solenoid which is deactivated by another component in the machine such as the pressure switch. If this is stuck on the programmer cant advance.
