Why does my N Reg Nissan Micra keep dying?

I will be driving along and the car will start to judder and then lose power; I have to take it out of gear and then put it in gear again to get keep moving! I'm getting worried becuase it's happened on busy roads and I could cause an accident... Also, it sometimes cuts out completely while im stationary at traffic lights.

Any help, or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Leanne ..... you can try what John suggests but another option is to get someone to test the Chankshaft sensor for you. I had to change one on a Corsa last week for exactly the same symptoms as yours.

I think wee Micra has a problem with its 'throttle body' effectively the bit that meters fuel into the engine...its fairly common. Unfortunately this is a very expensive bit but if you look at the BBA Reman website they give you a list of symtoms of the faulty throttle body and also prices.
