I think I have dirt in my chain-saw carberetor?

Starts fine but peters out after a few seconds
Ray Bracher, March 2008
How long has the saw been sitting with or without gas?

David, March 2008
You are probably right but be very careful when you strip these carbs. down.....look for any torn diaphragms and watch for a tiny spring under the fuel inlet needle. Personally I would only strip these if there was compressed air and carburettor cleaner available. Check the air cleaner(s) too.
