zannussi fle1416w fault?

my machine has started to stop mid wash cycle, machine fill's with water , then stops , if you use the pause and skip buttons you can empty the machine , but it will not complete a wash .

any ideas , cheers

cheers for the reply , but replaced the carbon brushes and all working fine , £19 and sorted

i'll keep the heater tip for next time ,
