can not remove electric lead,as it is broke.

remove green starter button,it is held in by a small clip on its base on the straight side of the button nearest the handle.
Use a small strip of steel 1/4 of an inch wide slightly bent 1/2 inc from the bottom.insert this in center of the gap on the straight side of the button and fiddle to release button.
Remove self tapping screw then remove switch.You will not be able to use the old connectors use 2 LUCAR connectors (as used on car wiring).
I you cannot remove green button prise it out with 2 small screwdrivers,you will destroy the small retaining catch.
Purchase a new button from your local Dyson shop,which will cost a shocking £3

Remove green operating button,to do so push small strip of steel ih the side in the button on the cleaner handle side to release a small retaining clip. remove self tapping screw that is visable. lift switch. to connect shortened cable or new cable
use 2 LUCA connectors as used on car wiring, you cannot join to old connectcrs. Re assemble switch,does work i have done it
Took me ages to find out how to get the switch out
