how do i remove an element in a smeg fan assisted oven?

we are trying to remove an electric element from a smeg fan assisted oven the number on the oven reads 80mfx

assuming it is the same as the slightly smaller 61mfx, SWITCH off the power, remove the interior panel in back of oven (inside) Undo the three phillips screws 2 at the top and one at the bottom. Lift off element and pull wires through. Change wires over one at a time, if you let them escape back through the hole you'll have to take the back panel off cooker as well to rescue them. On some cookers elements are held on with nuts and bolts and you have to take the back off anyway to get to the nuts. Genuine replacements can be obtained from http://www.smeg-service.co.uk :elements are model specific so pick for your cooker: part number 806890591 currently discounted to 19-99!. Go to spares, pick cookers and run down to your model (SUK80MFX I guess) If your current element has "captive" bolts with nuts and not screws, you have to buy two bolts at 10p each and keep the old nuts- good luck
