The gearbox itself is likely to be ok - its the linkage underneath thats the problem - it could even have come apart. You can buy the linkage bits separately but I would recommend that a garage does this one for you as its very important to set up the linkage correctly. If its not done properly you risk heavy wear on the gear selector forks.
