Ford KA tickover adjustment?

My ford ka is jumpy when the car is still, eg at junctions etc..
ive been advised to adjust the tickover but can't figure it out.
any advice?

Thankyou for your response, just an enquiry, I've just spoken to a friend, he seems to think this would only be relevant on the newer versions of the KA. mine is a 97 P reg..

Hi Sarah, the tickover is not adjustable as its controlled by the ECU by the idle control valve, these valves get gummed up with petrol deposits and poor idling results its an easy job to clean two bolts and a connector, spray clean it with "carb" cleaner
