HELP! I've tried everything to fix overheating Dyson DC04?

I've stripped it down to the motor, no blockages and plenty of life in the brushes. It still cuts out due to overheating after 10mins even with top and bottom filters removed. Suction excellent so motor seems to be performing apart from the overheating (V. hot under bin). Brush bar, etc turning freely.

Any advice? Do I need a new motor even though it seems to be functioning OK?

Had the same on a DC07. Dyson approved service agent recommended soldering up the thermal cutout switch. For obvious reasons, I couldn't actually recommend you to do the same, but I did it and unsurprisingly the machine hasn't cut out since. Neither has it burst into flames.

Hello

I have just experienced the same fault on a DC07 animal.. Checked all the tubes etc removed cleaned all filters + Hepa filter and even run without them. Air coming out at very high volume suggesting there is plenty of power ...HOWEVER exhaust within
