How to change Starter Spring on Mcculloch 610 Super?

Mcculloch Timber Bear, Part of 610 family, My starter cord is not recoilling fully. I believe the starter spring has become weak. I would like to examine the spring to see if it needs adjustment or replacing. If it needs to be replace how do you do that. Starter springs can be tricky to handle. Any help would be appreciated.

Also after I have the saw running then shut it off to refuel. I have a hard time starting again. The saw runs well from a cold start. I had the coil changed out about 10 hrs ago. Any ideas?
