When it works, its fine
Machine is 4 years old, and often has a fit of the sulks, set it on a programme, press start and either 1) nothing happens, 2) Some water is pumped in 03 3) gives a little sort of "bump" noise and then nothing
Than after an indeterminate period will all of a sudden work again

Kept in an outhouse extension, cold but not overly damp
Any thoughts please?

i would check motor brushes first. may be almost worn out, if you take one out and theres very little carbon replace brushes
