bobbin cloggin'?

My bobbin gets clogged with thread from the top spool, and the machine won't sew when it gets clogged obviously. A brother xv machine. Any ideas?

Hello Andee,
Make sure the presser foot is up when you thread the machine so the thread goes between the discs, top tension between 4 and 6, make sure the needle is in the right way round, very common fault that one.
