the knob which you choose to set the program just continues to clickaround the dial every second or so, until it reaches the fast spin point and then stops!

Should i just get a fresh one or is it simple?

well mate if you got any idea about repairs great it's a few screws down the back you have to undo and you take ehe dial of gently and disconnect the plastics that link the dial to soap and freshner off and disconnect the block around the timer (the dial) and remove it and put your new one and asembly reverve to the diassemble.
