Again I cannot help but my car does this as well, I've got an 06 Focus. Its been several garages, had it plugged into the diagnostics and no fault codes show up. I've had all the earth's checked, the module under the glove box checked as well as the switch in the steering column. I've had this problem over a year now.

Not an answer, but mine has the same fault. 55 plate Focus. Wipers work OK for a while and then fail to turn off, even when the ignition is switched off. Inchcape Ford in Farnborough looked at it and haven't resolved it. It is now this morning with Platt's of Marlow - somehow a mechanic made the wiper stop but he didn't know how. I'll let you know if I get a suitable answer.

I have had this problem for 3 years now, i take my car to the dealers leaving the problem with them. The first time i had to pay for a new battery...that was later refunded, then they had to fix my scratched windsreen, then of course free windscreen blades because they had worn down. Its ALWAYS handy to have some video evidence and a 10mm spanner with you. My car has had so many diagnostic tests im thinking of calling the vicar into help....can anyone help with an answer to this frustrating problem as my cars been left on the forecourt again with its windscreen wipers waving like they just dont care....COME ON FORD......!!!!!!

I had exactly that problem a couple of days ago - I came out in the morning to find the battery flat and the wiper parked in the middle of the screen. When I connected a jump start, the wiper started moving - with the key out of the ignition! This carried on after I next stopped the car and removed the key - just as in your case. Eventually, I stopped it simply by turning on the ignition and then pressing the wash/wipe button once. The problem hasn't come back - so maybe that would be worth a try for you.
