How can I replace my chain on Homelite 240 chain saw?

I would like to know how to remove the chain cover in order to replace my chain on my Homelite 240 chain saw?

Thanks David;

Mine has one stud broken off. When I remove the one cover nut, the cover will not remove. Do you think that I should tap it with a hammer?

with the bar of the saw facing away from you. On the right hand side there is 1 or 2 nuts that are facing to the right. This is the bar cover. Remove these 1 or 2 nuts and take the cover off. Now gently grab the bar in the middle and pull it towards you and it should come off of the bar studs and adjustment screw. slide the bar to the left and remove the chain from the sprocket. Take it off the bar and it is off. When you assemble it with a new chain you will need to turn the bar adjustment screw counter-clockwise so you can get the new bar on. This is because the old chain has stretched and the new chain will be tighter. Place the chain on the bar (Be sure to get the chain on the right direction) and then put the chain on the drive sprocket. Now slide your bar onto the studs and line up the hole with the adjustment screw. Now place the bar cover back on and spin the nuts on until they are just finger tight. Now grap the tip of the bar (don't cut yourself) and hold it up and pull straight out on it and turn the adjustment screw clockwise until there is about a 1/8" gap between the bottom of the bar and chain where it rides. While still holding the tip of the bar tighten the bar nuts up snugly. and your done.
