I have a vauxhall vectra 54 reg 1.9 cdti with 61000 miles today it broke the timming belt. Does it do much damge to the engine and is this common at this mileage.
Also how expensive will it be to fix

i done one 2day,the belt broke when driving, due 2 water pump brakeing down. the only damage it caused was the rocker arms all broke...(no valve damage)....we took the job on cos no1 else would attempt it. the customer took his car to 3 places and he got quotes of £3000+ :O..we managed to price it for £1500.

Speak with Vauxhall, belt only to be changed at 100K/10 years therefore it failed out of spec.
This can be very expensive indeed
