do i top up trim tilt fluid on my 82 85hp yamaha in up or down positiobn with manual screw on or off any help

Tilt it up, remove fill bolt on cylinder and fill with small "pump" can or bottle with tranny fluid (Dexron II 0r III ATF) until cylinder is full. Replace bolt and go on your way...
