fuel problem 1993 ford transit 2.5?

thanks mate. Ive taken the fuel pump off and opened the 17mm thing you sed and also 2 star bolts at the bottem of the pump and looked inside it. there dont seem to be any shards of metol any wear the pump looks fine. as for the injectors im not sure if they are burnt out at the tips. ive managed to replace the injectors with brand new ones.put it back together set the fuel timing and engine timing. but its doing the same thing. the engine wont run without bleeding fuel thru the injectors. it runs poorly a few secounds then dies. ive managed to fined a secound hand pump thats off a working van. would it be wise to replace the pump. thanks pal. lee....

the fuel pumps on those vans are very prone to breaking up the spings on the rotor plate. this normally causes a lack of pressure at the injectors. b4 u change the pump check 2 see if u hav fuel at the lift pump which is situated just below the exhaust manifold at the back of the engine and check the supply pipe from the tank to the lift pump because they can rub on top of the bellhousing and get a small hole in them and the lift pump wil only draw air
