No water coming out of any hot taps?

Hi,

There isnt any hot water coming out of any of our taps this morning.

Yesterday I fitted a new mixer tap in the kitchen and everything seemed to be working fine, although it did look like there was a little less hot water coming out of the new mixer than the old.

One thing I did wrong was to connect the hot and cold pipes from the mixer the wrong way. Should this matter?

As I say, I have tried all the hot taps in the house and there is no hot water coming out at all.

We have the following:

1. Ideal Mexico Boiler
2. Honeywell Cylinder Thermostat L641A1039

The cold water is fine

Any help gratefully appreciated

Thanks

In this freezing weather I have no hot water to the kitchen tap, bath tap or bathroom sink tap. Also no cold water to toilet or bathroom sink tap. Could it be frozen pipes - I have cold water running to kitchen and bath. Any ideas or solutions would be great!

I have a similar problem. I fitted a new mixer tap in kitchen but have no water from hot taps any place in the house. All valves are open and header tank has water. I tried the hose to hot tap trick but get water coming out for only a few seconds after I remove he hose. I have tried leaving kitchen tap open and flushing through from bathroom and get water but again after nothing but a dribble till it empties.

Hi Plums,

Thanks for that. I tried to push the airlock out by blocking my mixer tap with my palm and opening hot and cold. It got the water working again, but after a few minutes it just dribbles out and then stops.

I have done this 4 or 5 times now.

Could it be something other than an airlock?

if water only dribbles out of the tap it may be an air lock . to fix wrap a plastic bag around the nozzel of the tap, turn hot tap on then turn cold on slowly.
