s reg 1.8 mondeo turbo diesel?

i have mondeo turbo diesel 1.8 turbo diesel my timing belt went when on tickover and the camshaft snapped i have a replacement but cannot see anytiming marks on the camshaft and were are the timong marks on the pump and crank help please

Hi.

In fords wisdom, they didn't mark the cams on this model so you need the cam locking tool and positioner, although really you can make the cam locking tool and just buy the positioner which is a flat bit of metal with a groove in it which fits snuggly into the end of the camshaft (withouts the pulleys on) when it fits and is flush with the block surface.. thats it times (although you need to line up the notches on the crank as well and find TDC (Top dead Centre)) You can buy a special pin (screw) for this but the old way of a long screw driver in cylinder one also works, when it goes as high as it will go as you turn the crank.. thats TDC.
