yes, i do mean the start button,sorry.i have removed the control panel and so therefore can you tell me the part number for the push button diffuser,thanks.am i right in thinking that this machine is an electrolux ?

when you say on/off switch do you mean start button?,as this is a common fault on these and they all work ok until you try to start program and then it won't work.you need to get a new push button diffuser for the switches as they break behind the fascia panel.the whole front control panel has to be removed in order to change the diffuser
