My Ford Ka 1998 Heater only blowing cold air?

used to work fine, the hoses going in to the back of the dash are hot just no hot air is coming out, would it be worth checkin to see if the hot/cold nob is actually doing something? if so how do i check?

Cheers

Hi Charlotte, it is probably the heater valve that has failed it is mounted under the bonnet, it is a common failure. the heater knob controls the valve by an electronic circuit board thats behind the heater panel

Yes i agree, also when i turn it there doesnt seem to be any resistance either, but i dont want to pull the heater dash section off lol

my mk1 mondeo is doing the same thing. All i can tell you is that im sure i heard the dial make some funny noises during turning before it began only blowing cold. As such i think it is that but i dont know how to check or fix it else id have fixed my own
