My Proform 10.5 is having problems, please help?

My proform 10.5 running machine is having problems. It was working fine. I went to use it last night, the running belt works fine when i'm not standing on it. As soon as i stand on it, it stops and starts, it does not like any weight being put on it.

Does any one have any suggestions please.
thank you

Hi this is an old question now but assuming someone else will have this problem like I did I found what worked for me was tightening up the two allen key fixings at the end of the belt (opposite end to where the motor is housed) this worked for the problem I had with my machine. I tried following the last answer on here before mine at first but found that adjusting the motor under the cover only takes the looseness out of the drive belt and not the running belt. Also I would definitely try my way first as it is much easier than having to laying the treadmill on its side in order to take the cover off... Lol

The problem is the motor belt. I had the same issue with mine and what i did was take off the cover in the front that hides the motor and other electronics. You'll need an extra long philips screw driver to reach the screws under the bottom. Once the cover is off, you need to run the treadmill with you standing on it and see if the motor is turning but not the belt. If that's the case you need to adjust the belt by loosing the one bolt that hold the motor in place, press down on the motor to put tension on the belt and then re-tighten the bolt. In my case i had my wife (who's petite) stand on the motor while I tighten. That should fix your problem.

You have 3 places that can slip on a treadmill.
1. The walking Belt. When they slip they make a shush
Kind of sound.
2. Drive belt. They normally squeak when they slip.
3. The plastic pulley can loose its grip on the roller and spin instead of move the belt. It usually makes a zing kind of sound.
Remove the motor hood. Turn on the treadmill and walk.
When it slips look down at the front roller were the drive belt is.
If the walking belt is slipping, The walking belt will stop, but the motor, drive belt, and front roller will continue to move.
If the drive belt is loose, the walking belt and front roller
Will stop, but the motor will still turn. It can also make a burning smell.
If the plastic pulley on the front roller looses its grip, the motor, plastic pulley and drive belt will move but the walking belt and front roller will stop.
To tighten the drive belt you would need to move the motor.
If you can send me a picture of the motor and bolts I could tell you how to adj. it.
If this doesn’t help you have one of the conditions above. I have a video on this.
