Ford Ka Heater fault ?

My ford Ka heater was only blowing hot air, I have replaced heater valve & it now only blows cold air. I have checked voltage to valve & is 12V, also checked for air in heater matrix, could it be heater control switch, any ideas out there ?

Just changed the resistor on my Ka, with the great guidance from above. Easy swap from the breaker's yard and for just £5!

Help.
I have replaced the Heater control valve, it works now i think... I swich the car on, and it moves the sellonoid valve to the closed position, no hot water can pass through.
However, I also replaced the heater resister unit, the one near the passengers right foot, but it gets very very hot, to the point I think is beyond normal... I know it got hot because i tested the heater system before putting the resister unit back into its well, with the single screw and black plug with 4 wires. Still no hot air when I change the selector. Still a problem... need some advice please

Merckenzie is absolutely right about this. I was quoted £75 by my local garage today to fix this fault and after finding his post I fixed it for £8.92!!. The blower motor resistor is DEAD easy to find and replace (1 screw and a push-fit connector with a safety clip). It will take about 5 minutes if you are a slow worker!!

Hi Re fan speeds not working, the resistor is a small box held in place with one pozidrive screw in the passenger footwell, just about where your right foot would be. There is a block connector with 4 wires coming from it. Literally a 2 minute job. The part less than a tenner from Ford dealer. Common problem, so they will probably have it in stock. I replaced mine tonight!

ka 1997 the heater blower does not work, i,ve changed the 4 speed switch it still does not work any body please help

Hi, the heater control is a variable resistor that makes up part of the electronics unit behind the panel they do fail but normally its the valve that fails first
