slipping clutch?

i have a 86 ford ranger that i just replaced the clutch in but it is slipping. What would cause a new clutch to slip?

yes i replaced all the parts you mentioned, how I would i adjust the hydraulic pressure?

steve, April 2008
1) Incorrect cable or hydraulic adjustment (no clearance between the release bearing and the pressure plate) 2) Oil leaking onto the clutch itself 3) Clutch incorrectly installed or not the correct one...presumably you did replace the friction plate, pressure plate and release bearing - and the splines were clean and undamaged?
