I ran into the steps with the right tire of my lawn tractor on the right side of the tire. Now one wheel points in one direction slightly and the other in another direction. I looked in the manual and it looks like the part that is bent is the draglink.Does this sound like the part I need to replace. Is this part made to take the stress in a accident of this type.

Take the drag link off and put in a vice and bend it back. I have done it and works fine

Take the old drag link with you to your dealer - if you can compare old with new you'll see if yours is bent or not. Other parts can bend without you actually realising though - like the rod that connects the front wheels together when you steer - or the brackets that the rod actually bolts on to.
