changing oil in lawn mower?

I have a Craftsman self-propelled lawnmower and I can't find the drain plug anywhere. The model # is 917.377641.

My model 38527 push mower has a drain plug at the bottom of the engine. If however there is an accumulation of dirt you might not see it. It takes a square socket rachet inserted into the plug to remove it. My mower is one year old. The other suggestions abaout tipping the mower over and draining through the oil imput on top of the engine applies to some models. I hope this helps.

Lance,

This model does not have a drain plug. You need to open the Oil Cap, turn the lawn mower over and drain the oil this way.

....or it maybe on the very bottom of the crankcase - accessible from beneath the cutter deck.

most all push mowers have no oil plug....you have to take it out where it goes in
