main fuse box keeps tripping?

Whenever I try to switch on my tumble dryer it trips the main fuse.It is a Hotpoint Aquarius condensor Dryer

Sounds like the heater element is faulty, disconnected the element ( quite thick wires ) and try it, if all is good get another element
