Its doesnt seem to be running at full speed, it was running ok and then it slowed down and cant really cut long grass, it just manages short grass. Its sound like its running a bit lumpy as well. gasping at times.

Any ideas on how to cure this would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem the engine was choking I removed and cleaned the air filter and she was away again
Or perhaps the choke cable is sticking, remove and check the spark and see if it is black if so wire brush and clean or renew the plug. good luck
