There is no water coming out of my gainsborough impulse shower?

My shower is A Gainsborough Impulse 9.5kw. The water flow control knob just keeps going round and round and no water is coming out at all. I believe someone has turned the knob too tight recently because it became loose a couple of days ago, but now its not functioning at all. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem without incurring the expense of a new shower?
Thanks

Yes, same here. The flow control knob that you turn to switch on and regulate the water probably needs replacing. This knob is connected to the inside cogs, and is held in place by two things: 1. A screw and 2. Plastic 'vanes' that form an integral part of the knob and slot into gaps on the inside cog. On my shower these plastic vanes had broken into little bits, leaving only the screw to hold the knob in place. After constant turnings on and off the screw becomes loose and then the knob just rotates without interacting with the internal cogs. Tightening the screw makes it work again for a short period of time but you need a new part, either just the knob if you can get it, or the complete front panel, which is moe expensive.

Exactly what has just happened to my Impulse shower, Here is the address of the part page cost £21 ish. Cheaper than a new shower . There is a pin that holds the water control and heat dial in place - this snaps and the dial just spins or jams. http://www.shower-warehouse.co.uk/erol.html#1083x0&&http%3A%252F%252F for details of the shower look at www.showerdoc.co.uk%252Fshower-spares%252Fgainsborough%252Fimpulse.html
The only solution I think is to buy a new front cover part number 95.614.193.
Thats what I am doing anyway.
