Hi Rob,
Mine is doing exactly the same thing, but is working intermittently. My plumber says there is valve with some kind of connector attached that signals to the valve to open and supply hot water, but is broken, hence no hot tap water. I have had an estimate of £200 parts and labour to get it fixed :0(
