cambelt change ford fiesta 12 zetec t reg?

was going to change the cam belt my self untill i heard that the bottom pully nut is impossible to remove is this a common problem or was this guy just having a bad day

had same problem dan took mine to local garage was told that thay had attempted a few with no joy and wouldnt touch one again for fear of braking the pully bolt sorry mate

Hi Dan, the bolt on the pulley is only torqued to 40Nm plus 90deg so it should'nt be that difficult to remove, when you have the crank in the correct position No1 on TDC and the cams locked remove the starter motor and jam a large screwdriver into the ring gear to lock the crank and the bolt should undo without too much difficulty, remember you must use a new bolt when re-assembling
