How can I close my rover 25 boot? When I push it down it will not catch. The metal grip part on the boot lid seems loose enough yet wont catch onto the metal rod on the tailgate part.
Operate the small lever on the side of the latch on the tailgate. Keep fingers clear of the rotary latch as it springs to its open position.

Make sure that the latch (on the tailgate) is in the OPEN position before attempting to close the tailgate. Do that, by pulling the remote tailgate release lever in the driver's footwell.
