Welding Motorcycle Subframe?

I am about to weld my Motorcycle Subframe, apart from taking out the battery is there anything else that needs to be done on the bike before starting?

Can you make a I subframe conversion brackets (kit) for a 02 750 gsxr motorcycle? I would like to install a different subframe but it has a different bolt demension. Gregg's custom has the kit but its only for a conversion of the Busa 1300 too gsxr 1000.

You don`t say where on the bike frame your goinig to weld. If you are use to welding this kind of equipment you won`t have a problem. My advice would be to make sure the area`s clean no paint, grease etc. and don`t let the area where your welding get to hot. Otherwise it will crack a bit later on

I work for a manufacturer of motorcycle subframes and we often have customers send us subframes to have welded and straightened. I would suggest removing the subframe from the motorcycle before welding. That way you don't have to worry about damaging any other components of the motorcycle.

Remove the fuel tank, and anything else that is combustible. If you are MIG or arc welding its best to disconnect the generator too and maybe the ignition ignitor module - neither like stray current.
