how do you get the airbag srs light to go out on a rover 600 series

there is a yellow two pin connector down by the pedals , short these two together and turn on ignition the light will go out after about 6 seconds , remove the short and the light will come back on again , put the short back in the light will go out and come on again finally remove the short and the light should blink twice . all done
