building regs require all heating systems to have a interlock which is in effect a room thermostate
therefore when you fit your thermostatic valves on the radiators which is very good practice leave room thermostate conected and just turn to max so that it does not override the valves also it is good to keep as if you go away for a few days you can turn it down to allow the heating system to come on low and not having to change any of the valve settings
