How to get sony handycam error c31.23 sorted out on DCR PC55E ?

Tried all it shows in the manual. No luck.
Any help on this issue many are facing .
I have Sony handycam DCR - PC55E.Error shows Reinsert tape
Error flashing at the top C31.23.
