Hi, I've removed the calliper and eased the bleed nipple but i can neither get the cylinder to go back nor to turn. Am i missing a trick?

Remove the floating part of the calliper. To get the cylinder back enough to accommodate the new pads you need to crack the bleeding nipple and turn the cylinder clockwise. If the cylinder can't go back freely then it won't go back. You may need to squeeze the cylinder back and turn it at the same time. There is an adjustment device in the cylinder to keep the hand brake adjusted. It is a sharp angled screw device
