The battery needs changing on my alarm panel which is an Optima XM6?

The battery needs changing on my alarm panel which is an Optima XM6, I have been told I will need a maintenance code to do this, not sure if this is the case, just need to know when i take the front off and the alarm sounds what is the next step.

where did you get your replacement battery

No you only need the user code.
Open the panel, the tamper will sound.
Enter your user code,
Change the battery
Replace cover
Press reset twice.
