loss of power, very uneven running, fuel clean, oil correct, on the fly wheel one magnet is really strong, on the opposite side it is very weak - is that normal, only 18 months old

change the gasket under the carburettor. Also check that the bolt retaining the gas tank and the carb is properly tightened. If not use Loctite.

Im not sure, but I am having the same problem. Briggs 12.5, fires up rough, then sounds like its ready to run, starts to cough, then dies. I have replaced the fuel filter, spark plug, dumped the gas, played with the idle. I am lost. If you get and answer, let me know!
