renault laguna sports tourer 51 plate 1.9dci?

HI Mark

Can you tell me if the abs hydraulic pump is the same as the abs hydraulic unit this is located behind passenger side front wing
are they the same unit.
The caliper is ok
front brakes ok
Passenger rear brake ok
Drivers side rear brake faulty

drivers side rear brake new caliper fitted traced the fluid line back to the abs hydraulic unit disconnected the pipe no fluid coming out (dry)
if replaced does it have to be computer configurated to the car

HI Mark

Just to clarify something for me , if all the brakes work except the passenger side rear (fault checked and evidence of no fluid dry when the pipe was removed from the unit. the mechanic said it still may not be the abs unit I said why he said could be something else ,I am not sure whether he is being honest on this repair.Looking at it logically if the unit is dry coming from the brake in question it must be the abs unit.
I would appreciate your response

Regards

Vince

Hi vince the pump and the hydraulic unit are both the same unit , yes it is fitted n/s front wing ,now you can take the computer part ,and unbolt it from the pump unit but you have to be careful there is a connector inside do not damage the terminals, and then you could fit the new pump you have got and fit it to the original computer then you dont have to have it configured but if you fit the hole thing the pump and computer (the new one) you will have to have it configured to the vehicle hope this helps.
