engine management light?

1.6 saxo automatic idles very high 1100rpm - when idle drops or when i slow down engine management light comes on for a few seconds then goes off

The fact that the management light has actually displayed means that there is a fault code stored in the cars computer, which can be read by any garage with suitable equipment. Personally I reckon its the idle control valve at fault (ICV).
