nintendo ds lite wont power up?

hi,my ds wont power up,the green light comes on dim then goes bright,then ,then goes off,at the same time the backlight on the bottom screen flashes once and then thats it,it charges ok and the battery works in my sons ds ok i dont think its been dropped and it hasnt been swimming,any pointers would be much appreciated.

Finally someone giving an answer to a question instead of offering to fix the problem at a price!! I had the same problem green light dim then bright quick flash on screen, double checked connection on top screen now works many thanks!!!!!!!!

Good News Roy... it is an easy fix! just sussed mine out. the top screen ribbon cable is not fully in place.. fiddly as hell but you have to make sure it is making contact the whole way across it before putting the black clip down.. not easy with fat fingers but i just got my kids sorted out just now... PHEW!!!!
